The weekend of the 9th & 10th of April we honoured our Founder, Coach and Friend Vince Marriott. We had Bath Panthers attend on Saturday to provide our Juniors their first games since our new programme launch in July 2021. Sunday was memorial day! Both past and present Senior Club Men and Women’s Players showcased the day with two memorial games.
We have raised a grand total of £1,187.21!!
All money raised will go to Vince’s chosen charity Kidney Research UK
Highlights
Women’s Memorial
It was great to see some returning players to the court in this memorial! Some Flames certainly were relit as both team’s caught fire for an epic game. Find out more about our Phoenix Flames WEBBA team.
Men’s Memorial
The Hawks certainly seen a return to the court in Honour of Vince including our senior referees. It was also great to see some of our future stars take to the court.
Vince Marriott Women’s Memorial MVP
Congratulations to Philly Rose for Winning the first VM Women’s memorial MVP! Philly is our most senior player at the Club and has been our Women’s competition secretary this season.
Vince Marriott Men’s Memorial MVP
Congratulations to Steve Wallis for winning the first VM Men’s memorial MVP! Steve remains a key player in the Hawks team as we return to WEBBA this season after 7years. Steve is currently the N.1 scorer in WEBBA and is also a vital part of our coaching team.

Charlie Pecchia
Charlie Pecchia currently attends our Junior programme and at just 14 years old has a bright future as a young athlete. Charlie is part of the Bristol Flyers Academy and is currently completing his DoE award. As part of winning this prestigious award we will also be sending Charlie on his Level 1 Basketball coaching Award.
Talks with Corey Samuels
As part our Junior tournament on Saturday BBL Bristol Flyers Point Guard Corey Samuels made a special appearance to give our Junior Players some advice. It was fantastic hearing his journey to professional Basketball and the rejections he faced before reaching to the elite level. We want all our Junior Players to aspire to reach a high level and Corey is prove that it is achievable through hard work and believing in yourself.
