Our Sunday Junior sessions are the starting block for young players aged between 8-15years old. These Junior sessions have proven to be highly successful with some of our senior members starting at the very same session! Some of these members have even undertaken roles to be part of our committee.
Fully qualified and trained
All our Junior coaches are fully qualified and first aid trained. Our coaches are fully experienced and are senior players at the club. We also have a designated safeguarding officer should you need to view our safeguarding policy find it here.
Our Junior players do not just play they train to learn and develop the fundamentals of basketball. We use key basketball Drills that help young players learn and develop the fundamental skills, these skills are then incorporated into game situations.
Why your child should try basketball
Basketball is a sport that teaches discipline and the importance of working as a team. Our Junior Members are expected to show respect and the willingness to learn. Many parents have noticed a change in attitude and focus to school work!
Let’s not forget it’s also great exercise, fun and a great way to create new friendships!
Our Junior programme leads to natural progression into our adult sessions including our very own CVL and exhibition team. We can also insist the development into other leagues such as Webba and NL.
We hope to continue our development of young players and provide them with opportunities to continue their basketball journey within our Club.
We also encourage competition for our Junior members and the Club will take part in Junior tournaments throughout the year.
